This is a summary, written by Herbert Menke, of an article by Kim Crouse that originally was published in the December 1995 in the Windows Tech Journal. The article should help you understand the concept of message flow in Windows. Power++ specific aspects have also been added. In this updated version, there is information about the new paint message documented in the Microsoft Internet Client SDK. Also, the file is now distributed in RTF format.

STL Made Simple
This is a nice short introduction to the Standard Template Library. It introduces each of the container types and gives examples with each one. The author of the site has also made available Java book online, which may be useful as an introduction to many OOP techniques. He will also be putting up the latest revision of his Thinking C++ book once his Java book is in print.
